“I am not convinced by those I call children of chemicals, synthetic children,” Dolce told the magazine. “Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.”
Though following the controversy sparked when Dolce called children conceived through in vitro fertilization “synthetic babies“ in a recent interview with an Italian magazine, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce say they still respect other people’s life choices.
The closest good news we ever heard of concerning Synthetic life form was when Scientists created the world’s first synthetic life form in a landmark experiment that paved the way for designer organisms that are built rather than evolved.
Yet like the comment from Dolce, this controversial feat, which occupied 20 scientists for more than 10 years at an estimated cost of $40m, was described by one researcher as “a defining moment in biology”.
Craig Venter, the pioneering US geneticist behind the experiment, said the achievement heralds the dawn of a new era in which new life is made to benefit humanity, More like the idea where advocates of adoption view the process of adoption as a means by which the wealthy can offer a better life to less privilege children.
However critics, including some religious groups, condemned the work, with one organization warning that artificial organisms could escape into the wild and cause environmental havoc or be turned into biological weapons. Others said Venter was playing God.
Biological weapons!!!! Just like Dolce suggested, what kind of a baby do we usher into our world when it is conceive through vitro fertilization? His answer is “synthetic babies” and they are raised by Gay parents. Could we categories this babies under environmental havocs or Biological Weapons?. Opponents, on the other hand, suggest that the alleged greater prevalence of depression, drug use, promiscuity and suicide among homosexuals (and alleged greater prevalence of domestic violence) might affect children or that the absence of male and female role models during a child’s development could cause maladjustment. I think parents who have been opportune to raise kids can best tell how their lifestyle can affect a child psychology.
I believe the consequences of a misguided childhood can well be portrayed in an adult tyrant, But would Hitler’s dangerous ambitions have been contained, or his malevolence deflected, had he become an accomplished artist? As history reminds us time and time again, the road to evil often contains some rather surprising detours along the way. And, as the following cases show, a nascent megalomania may try on many — unexpected — hats before donning the service cap and shades of a despot or mass murderer. But… somehow in this particular case of the despot and mass murderer we can still argue that they had some pockets of choice from which they could deep into and make the world a better place. The controversy only comes when it has to do with babies. We that were born of man and woman, when we decide to design an unnatural road for another being, and present him/she into a world where he will be obliged to recognize a male and male couple as being one Father and the Other Mother, in what way do we give this baby a choice. This might be the first surprising detour in the life of another being.
Child adoption has been a matter of great debate over the years not just because of the emergence of Gay child adoption. But because the practice goes with a lot of pain, blood and sacrifice. Some even go a long way to call it child abuse, slavery, and rape all rolled into one pretty package, marketed to wealthy infertile couples as the answer to all their prayers and forced upon unsuspecting members of the lower classes.
Deemed a “loving option” The abuse that adoptee suffer throughout their lives comes in many forms. As infants, they are separated from the only person they have ever known: their mothers. And I will bet with you that if these mothers had an option they will not give out their babies. These babies come into the world expecting the familiar scent of family and the warm voice that they grew accustomed to in utero, and instead they’re handed over to strangers masquerading as “mommy” and “daddy.” And to make it even more difficult, you’ll find a confused baby trying to understand why his Mom and dad are both men or both women.
Because this severing of the world’s most natural bond occurs at a time in a child’s life when he is unable to communicate his emotions and experiences, it is a trauma that will stay with him into adulthood. Adopted people also report struggling with their identities, as the legal lie that they are “as if born to”. When a man calls them “synthetic babies” to one extend it seems cruel and to another you’ll argue that there are not natural because their existence is all based on a lie. Their adopter’s works far better on paper than it does in the real world. Already a trying time for any young person, adolescence presents a special challenge for adoptee who lack knowledge of their heritage, family traits, and other critical factors for establishing one’s self. Perhaps this explains why adopted children are over-represented at both in and out-patient psychological treatment facilities.
Stance of the United States
Since the U.S. State Department does not consider child laundering to be a form of human trafficking, saying it is non-exploitative. It will always be difficult to fight this fight to a win. Furthermore, it is seen as a humanitarian act, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the acquisition of the child. Furthermore, the adoption agencies in the West are operating within a completely legitimate sphere, and have no way of knowing that they are a party to this human rights violation. Therefore, the United States does not have the jurisdiction to prosecute these agencies working in the developing countries. So no matter how much argument Dolce might have, the case will never be an easy one.
Immediately his comments caught the attention of the singer and songwriter Elton John, who took to Instagram over the weekend to urge a boycott of the high-end label, a perennial favorite of celebrities and socialites.
“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic,’” John wrote. “Shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF.” He added: “Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana.” John has two sons through IVF with his husband, David Furnish.
The hashtag quickly became a rallying cry on social media. Among others, Victoria Beckham, Courtney Love, the singer Ricky Martin, and the former tennis star Martina Navratilova condemned the fashion label on Twitter. Celebrities and civilians alike threatened to burn their Dolce & Gabbana apparel. Users posted pictures of their children conceived through artificial insemination.
But as people keep on looking with grim and glee at the comments. I will like us to settle back at the highly controversial Child laundering industry or why not the direct victim of this scheme the surrogate mother: A traditional surrogate is a woman who is artificially inseminated with the father’s or some guys sperm. She then carries the baby and delivers it for the parents or some other wealthy guy to raise. A traditional surrogate is the baby’s biological mother ; while many argue that these children are being treated as a commodity and stripped of family contact, others argue that, ultimately, the children will live in a more affluent environment and have more opportunities as a result of this adoption.[
Strong advocates of traditional family life say, Mothers have been raped of their infants. Their bodies have been used as incubators, and once their purpose has been served, they are expected to fade silently into the shadows. The common defense of the rapist is the simple statement, “She asked for it,” and the same has been said of the woman who dared to experience her sexuality outside of marriage. Adoption is the punishment she “deserved” for getting caught in defiance of our puritanical ideals. A life-time of grief, regret, depression, and trauma to make amends for one night of passion (which could have just as easily been a physical rape itself). Used, abused, and discarded, these mothers have been raped of their children and their souls.
They go further to say conventional mainstream framing has labeled her a “birth” or “biological” parent, degrading her by tearing away her right to be regarded as her child’s true mother.
What ever their argument Child laundering remains highly controversial
. Catholic Answers, a Catholic religious group, in its 2004 report on gay marriage addressed parenting by homosexual partners via adoption or artificial insemination. It pointed to studies finding higher than average abuse rates among heterosexual step-parent families compared with same-sex parents on the other side, Britain’s last Catholic adoption society announced that it would stop finding homes for children if forced by legislation to place children with same-sex couples. The Muslim Council of Britain also sided with Catholic adoption agencies on this issue. Catholic Charities of Boston also ended its founding mission of adoption work rather than comply with state laws conflicting with its religious practices.
The psychiatrist says the same-sex couple has, by definition, two persons at high risk for psychological disorders. The studies published in the Archives of General Psychiatry found that persons self-identified as homosexual in comparison to the general public had almost double the rate of suicidal ideation or attempts, substance abuse problems and psychological disorders. One of the studies found that 78.6% of the gay, lesbian or bisexual group suffered from multiple disorders.
I once had a sticker on my door which up to this day I can’t say how it got there and why it remained on that door. It said: ‘It’s a child and not a choice’ I could not resist the beauty of such reality and I found it worth being there for ever. The beggarly question of parentage–what is it, after all? What does it matter, when you come to think of it, whether a child is yours by blood or not? All the little ones of our time are collectively the children of us adults of the time, and entitled to our general care. That excessive regard of parents for their own children, and their dislike of other people’s, is, like class-feeling, patriotism, save-your-own-soul-ism, and other virtues, a mean exclusiveness at bottom.”
― Thomas Hardy, Jude the Obscure
The fundamentals of life place marriage not just as any relationship between human beings. It is a relationship rooted in human nature and thus governed by natural law.
Natural law’s most elementary precept is that “good is to be done and pursued, and evil is to be avoided.” By his natural reason, man can perceive what is morally good or bad for him. Thus, he can know the end or purpose of each of his acts and how it is morally wrong to transform the means that help him accomplish an act into the act’s purpose.
Any situation which institutionalized the circumvention of the purpose of the sexual act violates natural law and the objective norm of morality.
Being rooted in human nature, natural law is universal and immutable. It applies to the entire human race, equally. It commands and forbids consistently, everywhere and always. Saint Paul taught in the Epistle to the Romans that the natural law is inscribed on the heart of every man. (Rom. 2:14-15)
